Construction: Bookworm Cabin

This project focused on developing construction documentation skills to Australian standards through the design of the Bookworm Cabin, a small cabin extension located in Poland. The client, an artist, required an art studio extension with an additional bedroom that complemented the existing timber cabin. The design aimed to continue the timber materiality and construction vernacular of the original building while improving thermal performance by incorporating appropriate insulation into the new extension, which the existing structure lacked. The project also involved producing detailed construction drawings, as well as learning how to prepare finishes and fixtures schedules to communicate material selections and interior specifications clearly.
